Dirty work

Ages ago I cut out the framework for the cockpit.  All the bits of framing timber were marked and stacked aside until all the big bits and pieces for the interior were in place.

At last that happy day has come, and the cockpit frame can be finally put in place.  We had a few of the ‘what does this mark mean’ moments but eventually it all fitted together again.

The fuel tanks and batteries sit under the cockpit, so the frame of the cockpit is strongly bolted and glued together.

Times are hard
You’re afraid to pay the fee
So you find yourself somebody
Who can do the job for free
When you need a bit of lovin’
Cause your man is out of town
That’s the time you get me runnin’
And you know I’ll be around

Cockpit framing in place.  The ladder is sitting where the cockpit floor will be.

I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah
I don’t wanna do your dirty work
No more
I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah

Looks like a kids playpen, but it is designed to hold the fuel tank

Meanwhile the forward bow section and cabin are being finished off ready for a first coat of paint.

Bow section being tidied up ready for painting

Light the candle
Put the lock upon the door
You have sent the maid home early
Like a thousand times before
Like the castle in its corner
In a medieval game
I foresee terrible trouble
And I stay here just the same

Likewise in the forward cabin. The lining all cut and ready for fixing.

I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah
I don’t wanna do your dirty work
No more
I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah

For Anna.  So long and thanks for all the fish.
