The engine in a box is also coming along. The idea here is to build the engine into a box that is insulated and sealed as far as possible from the rest of the boat.
Its bad enough having to live with a diesel engine in the living room, but having to put up with its smelly breath and greasy deposits adds insult to injury.
The box is bolted to the keel, so it does the job of engine beds as well as a house for the motor. It will be insulated with 25mm sound / thermal insulation.
Air will be ducted into the motor box and extracted from it via 2 x 90mm vent pipes fitted with in line exhaust fans.
This is a bit of an experiment but its looking good so far.
