Here is a nice boat the owners are going to rebuild. It is made out of Huon Pine which is the creme de la creme of Australian boat building timbers. Its light, never rots, bends and shapes beautifully and looks fantastic.
The down side? These trees take up to 2000 years to grow. That’s right, they were around when the Roman Emperor Constantine decided the Rome needed a state religion to help “civilise the barbarians” and adopted an obscure Jewish cult that had as its symbol some poor man nailed to a cross.
Unlike the offshoots of the Roman State Religion, these trees are rather hard to find today.
