Building boats is one of those things I love to do but mostly really have struggle to find the time and money to indulge myself.
The same applies to sailing, but fortunately for that there is a plan and a timeline that should see us on the water in about 18 months.
Meanwhile some people get involved in other activities. Mountain biking has become really popular in the last few years. The bikes they use are something else – feather weight high tech machines made of carbon fibre with hydraulic brakes, full suspension and all the rest. Cost ? anywhere from $1000 – $10,000 …. youch – almost as bad as boats.
Then of course there is the lycra – lycra clad bodies, weird helmets and a very serious approach all seem to be part of the package
