Lids on

The cabin extension now has a lid.  Its been roughly trimmed and is waiting for the epoxy glue to set.

To get the ply to bend evenly we had to install it as a complete top on a set of light deck beams.  It is held in place by boat nails around the edges at 100mm spacing.

Once the glue has set and the frames underneath strengthened we will make the cut-out for the deck hatch.

The deck beams are supported and given an upward curve by a temporary beam in the centerline of the boat.

We will have to cut through the deck beams to install the hatch.   I dont want the deck to go out of shape when that happens.  Still thinking about how to go about this bit.
